Jennifer Lawrence has never had an official social media account — until now. On Tuesday, she joined Twitter and spoke out on the high percentage of incarcerated black men in America, as well as the death of Breonna Taylor.
Lawrence joined under the handle @JLawrence_RepUs, signifying her support for the organization Represent Us, which works to pursue federal reform in elections. Lawrence has a position on the board of the organization, and on Tuesday, shared a video on Twitter about corruption in the criminal justice system.

Lawrence pointed to the fact that no arrests have been made in Taylor's case, writing, 'As a Louisvillian, as a human being, I cannot be silent. I join all those who are speaking out against this grave injustice, calling upon Attorney General Daniel Cameron to take immediate action to hold those responsible for her death accountable.'
She added, 'We must not allow the erasure of Black women to continue in America. As many activists and leaders have been imploring for years: #SayHerName.'

Last week, the Louisville Metro Police Department released the police report for Taylor's case, which Intelligencer reported 'states Taylor’s name, a case number, and the time and date of the shooting, but leaves blank details already made public, including her date of birth.' The officers involved, Jonathan Mattingly, Myles Cosgrove, and Brett Hankison, have not been charged, and no arrests have been made.
